Contempt & Enforcement

Conflicts often arise even after a divorce or paternity case has concluded. At Beaches Family Law, P.A., we can assist you with determining whether you want to seek a modification of your divorce, modification of a paternity final judgment, or assist you with navigating through a modification case filed by the other side. In Florida, to modify a final judgment, the party seeking the modification must prove that there has been a material, substantial, and unanticipated change from when the court entered the final judgment.

Potential Conflicts that Cause Modifications

There is any number of reasons why you, your former spouse, or the child’s other parent may be seeking to modify your final judgment, including the following changes:

Enforcement Complications

You, your former spouse, or the child’s other parent may alternatively seek to enforce your final judgment because the other side is not following the agreement. Enforcements may arise because the other side has not followed the equitable distribution of assets or debts dictated by the agreement, the child support ordered alimony or spousal support, or parenting plan and timesharing. At Beaches Family Law, P.A., we will closely examine the unique facts and circumstances of your case and discuss whether we can assist you with beginning enforcement and contempt proceeding against the other party to help enforce the terms of your agreement.

Beaches Family Law, P.A. serves clients in a range of family law matters, including divorce, alimony, modifications, paternity, timesharing and child custody, child support, relocation, domestic violence, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
